Victoria Smolyar is the founding attorney at Modern Mark. She is a serial entrepreneur on a mission to make legal fun and accessible to the brands she serves.
With 13+ years of experience as a business and trademark lawyer, Victoria leverages the law to help her clients build and scale multiple 6- and 7-figure brands. Her expertise spans trademark and copyright law, with deep work helping business owners secure and monetize their valuable intellectual property. She is also well-versed in business contracts, marketing and advertising compliance, and non-profits.
She frequently writes and speaks on entrepreneurship and the law, offering numerous courses, workshops, and resources for business owners. Not just a lawyer, Victoria is a business owner herself, giving her a unique insight into her clients' needs and ambitions.
Business decisions should come from a place of power, not fear. My top priority is making sure my clients understand not just what is being done in their business, but why.
When she's not lawyering, Victoria is a dedicated mom of two human babies and one fur baby, a board member and general counsel for Rescue City (a local dog rescue), and a member of the Houston Bar Association's Health and Wellness committee. She loves hanging out with friends and family, spending time in nature, binge-watching British period pieces, hunting for memes, traveling, and experimenting in the kitchen.
