Yes. We review all your information and documents at no charge. If we can help, we’ll send a link to schedule a paid Strategy Session. If we can’t, we’ll let you know and refer you to another attorney when possible.

A 45-minute paid strategy session ($400) where we get to know your business, evaluate your legal needs, and outline next steps. If you engage Modern Mark within a week, we refund the fee.
Q03How long does the matter evaluation take?
About five business days once we have all your information and documents. If your matter is time-sensitive, say so on the form and we’ll expedite the evaluation.
Q04How do I schedule my Strategy Session?
If we can help, we email you a link to book it. The fee is paid by credit card when you book. Almost every session is held on Zoom, or by phone if you prefer. If your matter calls for meeting in person, we’ll reach out to arrange a time.
Q05What happens during a Strategy Session?
We get to know you and your business, go over your legal needs, and walk through the process, timeline and next steps. We answer your questions and give you an accurate quote. We can recommend a course of action, but in-depth legal advice has to wait until you formally retain us, because legal ethics rules require it.
Q06Am I obligated to hire Modern Mark after the Strategy Session?
No. The firm can also decline a representation it believes in good faith would be unlawful, unethical or unproductive.
Q07What happens to my documents and information?
They are kept secure and shared with our team only on a need-to-know basis. If you don’t become a client, your documents are stored or deleted under the firm’s document retention policy and Texas rules on attorney records.
Q08How long does trademark registration take?
On average, 8 to 14 months from filing, depending on the USPTO’s queue and whether your application encounters office actions. We move fast on our end. The wait is largely on the government’s side.
